Corpo Static Page Not Showing

Hi,

Hi, I spent hours attempting to solve two presumably connected issues but could not go anywhere, so would greatly appreciate any assistance. I wanted a static page (not a post) as my home page, so I created a page called “Home” and an empty post called “Blog”.

My Settings/Reading is set to Static Page as follows:

A. Front Page: Home
B. Posts Page: -Select-

Problems:

(i) B above could not be set to the “Blog” because the “Blog” post I created did not appear in the drop down select list. In fact, the select list contains a list of pages instead of posts, so I left it at the default position “-Select-“.
(ii) The newly created Home page did not appear as my landing page when I go to http://akptraining.com/. Instead what appeared on the landing page is something I had thrashed and could not be found either in my posts or pages.

(iii) The Home tab on the menu does not show the “Home” page I had created.Instead what appeared on the “Home” tab is similar to (ii).

Please tell me what to do!
