 * What exactly are the wordpress core files? I’m sorry but i have looked through
   some of the troubleshooting and still don’t understand. I am trying to put wordpress
   and all the admin files in one directory and the website in another. In my xampp
   folder i got another folder named htdocs and is that where all the core files
   are?
 * Thanks 🙂

 * Core files are all files in wp-admin, wp-includes, and the list of files within
   the wordpress folder. Pretty much everything except the wp-content folder….

 * I put the files all in the wordpress folder but if i keep the wp content folder
   in the root i get a black page on my site. I’m really having trouble understanding
   this since im a first timer. The reason im trying to do all this is because when
   i would login to my wepage and go to wp-admin login screen when i would login
   it would redirect me to the same login page and i could have never went to the
   options. I noticed it works if i put localhost:8080 as wordpress adress and [http://myhomepage.servebbs.com:8080](http://myhomepage.servebbs.com:8080)(
   which is the redirected site from myhomepage.go.dyndns.org because my isp blocked
   port 80.)The problem with that is when people would try to connect from the internet
   there was no theme to the page. It was black and white writing. Looks like this..

 * All your wp folders and files need to reside together generally.
