    I have discovered a blog on this site which is offering free downloads of books, including my own. There are no contact details on the blog and no way of making a complaint to the owner of the page. I want my book removed from this page and don’t know how to go about it. They do not have the right to distribute my novel in any way, shape or form. Please can someone help?

    WordPress.org does not providing hosting for sites, it simply provides the software for other people to use their own sites on their own hosts, software developed and support by volunteers.

    We have no more control over how they use WordPress than Microsoft has over how people use Microsoft Word.

    WordPress’s philosophy and bill of rights permit people to use WordPress software for any reason they want, without any enforcement over legality or illegality. We leave that up to the webhosts.

    In cases of theft, abuse, harassment, or other such behavior, your best recourse is to contact their web host directly. You can use WHOIS to determine where they’re hosted, as well as resources like http://www.whoishostingthis.com to find relevant information.
