Hello all, I have wamp installed on my windows 7 64 bit computer and followed the advice from this post: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-copy-wordpress-site-to-local-test-server?replies=34

I followed Sunny’s steps all the way to the end an I am unable to view the site or get into my dashboard but can get into phpmyadmin and see the database. The queries seemed to have been run successfully and I am getting the internal server error message so I am assuming it is a problem with my wp-config.php file.

I tried deleting the wp-config.php file and browsing to http://localhost/mysite to see if I could create a new one but the internal server error persists. When I created the new database in phpmyadmin on my computer I kept the same name as my original db and then imported the db which went off successfully.

When I open up my wp-config.php file and make the changes to reflect my local database all seems to look okay. I left the db name alone as that is what I named it in phpmyadmin. I changed the username to root and left the password empty as when I check my wamp/apps/phpmyadmin3.2.0.1./config.inc.php file that is what is shown there for configurations.

I’ve been at this for awhile now with no luck and was hoping someone might be able to point out something I may have overlooked or erred with. Sorry for the long post but I wanted to provide as much detail as I could.

I use http://www.instantwp.com/ for study and develoment test. I can carry it in my Thumb Drive and use it on any computer which don’t consume additional CPU load when don’t use it.

I don’t see anywhere on the site whether it is free or costs money. I would still like to be able to use wamp if anyone has any experience using it with a live copied website.
