copying files from cpanel and uploading to addon domain

The more I read and try and find the answer the more confused I get. I am wanting to add have additional websites exactly the same as mine but with a different name for example http://www.intimateonlineboutique.com which is the main site to http://www.intimateonlineboutique.com/janedoe. My hosting company (hostgator) told me to do an add on domain which I did. I can see how it created a new folder but what I am having issues with is when i type in the website eg http://www.intimateonlinboutique.com/rbrown it does not directly go to the website. I think I have to copy my original files into this new file, is this true? If so how do I do this? I kind of need step by step instructions. I know I do it from cpanel (phpmyadmin) and I have backed up the database. What files do I copy and how do I copy it do I need a zip file????? and then I know the file I need to upload it to cgi-bin under the new folder.

Is there anything else beyond the copying of files that I need to do to have this website working?
