    Hi,

    Just a couple of small, buggyish reports:

    1) The default info for the Remote Storage setting tells me that it’s using my ‘admin’ email address, but that’s wrong. What’s being reported is the email address for an editor account, and there seems to be no way to change this.

    2) When I click on the link in the ‘Note’ to read about “using the ‘Reporting’ add-on to make changes”, the link fails because Updraft is prepending my site URL to the URL for the intended link. (If I float my mouse over the link both links show up in a pop-up status bar to the lower right.)

    Okay, #1 is actually a semantic problem, and on closer reading your description is accurate but could use a slight tweak for clarity. You are pulling the email address for the SITE as a whole, not for the admin-level user. Maybe something like this would help:

    “Your SITE admin email address (http://example.com/wordpress/wp-admin/options-general.php) will be used.”

    Just something to indicate that you’re not pulling a user-level email address.

    #2 is still a problem.

    Hi,

    1) Is your WordPress install set to use a different translations than English? In the English version, it already says “Check this box to have a basic report sent to your site’s admin address” (with a link to the settings page where the site’s admin address is configured).

    2) Strange – I’m seeing an absolute link, which is what is in the source. Can you copy/paste the HTML source when you ‘view source’ in your browser?

    Are you on the current version of UD? I don’t recall when these last got changed, but perhaps both are different to the versions I’m testing because you’re on another version?

    Best wishes,
    David

    Hi David,

    I’m using English and in most respects the install is pretty vanilla. I’m also using a version of UD+ that I downloaded from this site today, so I assume it’s current.

    The first point I raised is just about language confusion. The problem with the ‘admin address’ description in your plugin text is that there is a generic e-mail address for the site as a whole, which is entered in the site’s general settings screen, but also at least one admin account (user account) that has an email address, which may be different. Meaning the word ‘admin’ itself is actually used in two different ways by WordPress, which is what tripped me up.

    Your text references the email address entered on the General Settings page for the site, and you can see where the confusion comes in on that page because the explanation underneath that blank says: ‘This address is used for admin purposes, like new user notification.’ In that instance ‘admin’ means administering the site, not being logged in AS the/an admin.

    The second point, about the confused link, occurs in this text on the plugin settings page:

    Your site’s admin email address (admin@example.com) will be used. For more options, use the “Reporting” add-on. Be aware that mail servers tend to have size limits; typically around 10-20 Mb; backups larger than any limits will likely not arrive.

    Here’s the page source:

    <tr class="updraftplusmethod email">
                <th>Note:</th>
                <td>Your site's admin email address (admin@example.com) will be used. <a href=&quot;http://updraftplus.com/shop/reporting/&quot;>For more options, use the &quot;Reporting&quot; add-on.</a> Be aware that mail servers tend to have size limits; typically around 10-20 Mb; backups larger than any limits will likely not arrive. </td>
            </tr>

    When I float my mouse over the UpdraftPlus link in the above text, I see this (which I copied and pasted here):

    http://www.example.com/wordpress/wp-admin/%22http://updraftplus.com/shop/reporting/%22

    I have no idea why, but that’s what I see (although %22 displays as “), and if I click that link I get a 404 on my own site.

    Thanks for following up.

    Ah, I see. I’ve made some tweaks to the development version – please give it a try and confirm whether it resolves your issues:
