Copying A whole site to a different name

    Hi! im a wordpress newbie, here is my question…

    how can i copy or duplicate the whole site and make a different name.
    this site is for annual event.

    ex. 1.event.com how can i change it to 2.event.com with same content and everything but i should be able to modify the content.

    There are plugins that help you to clone sites but you should be aware that you could get hammered by Google for duplicate content if you clone a site & its content. Otherwise, you could just install another copy of WordPress and use the same theme & plugins with different content,

    If you want a copy of your current website, then you need to download database file. Download the wp-content folder from the current website.

    After that go to new site make a new database and upload the Database file which you have download it. And also install the wordpress and replace the wp-content folder.

    Actually, that will not work. You missed out a few very important steps from Moving_WordPress.
