Copy pasting text: background color changed.

  • Hi,

    When our client copy pasted text (I don’t know from where or what program) into the newsletter, the background-color of the text was set trough a <span> element added to the text.

    The code in my template is:

    <!--[start module 1]-->

                <table width="594" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" class="zone_1" >
                  <tr>
                    <td><span class="handler"></span><span class="chooser"></span></td>
                  </tr>
                  <tr>
                    <td colspan="4" width="594" class="orange header" bgcolor="#f7a600" style="font-family: 'HelveticaNeue-Light', 'Helvetica Neue Light', 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, 'Lucida Grande', sans-serif; font-weight: 300; sans-serif;height: 30px;color: #fff;font-weight: bold"><img width="27" height="10" src="images/spacer.gif" /><!--[start_editable_content]-->%the_title_1%<!--[end_editable_content]--></td>
                  </tr>
                  <tr bgcolor="#ffffff">
                    <td height="20" colspan="4"><img width="1" height="20" src="images/spacer.gif" /></td>
                  </tr>
                  <tr bgcolor="#ffffff">
                    <td width="10"><img width="10" height="1" src="images/spacer.gif" /></td>
                    <td width="210" align="center"><img alt="" src="images/slabbeke.png" width="186" height="145" class="editable" style="display: block;"/></td>
                    <td valign="top" style="font-family:  'HelveticaNeue-Light', 'Helvetica Neue Light', 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, 'Lucida Grande', sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">

    				<!--[start_editable_content]-->
                        <p style="margin:0px; padding:0px"><span class="chooser"></span>
                        %the_excerpt_1%
    					</p>
                        <!--[end_editable_content]--> </td>
                    <td width="10"><img width="10" height="1" src="images/spacer.gif" /></td>
                  </tr>
                  <tr bgcolor="#ffffff">
                    <td height="20" colspan="4"><img width="1" height="20" src="images/spacer.gif" /></td>
                  </tr>
                </table>

                <!--[end module 1]-->

    It happens in both the title and body text fields

    Is there a way to remove any styling to C/P’d text?
    For now I’ve editted the HTML code in the WordPress database to get rid of the background color.

    I know it’s possible to paste plain text, but I’d like to be able to get rid of styles.

    Thnx,

    Ian

    in future releases we will force the clean code after pasting. For now, the best way is copy & paste plain text and then apply stiles through editor buttons…

    Regards,
    Carles.
