    Hey,

I make copy of wordpress (files and database) for a new domain. Change db variables in wp_config and domain in db dump.

After this operations not all wp options are copied. For example I had problem with menu position and background image options. They are in database but new copy of wp not using it.

What can I do to copy these wp options correctly?

  • These options are theme specific.

    Thanks for replay.

Theme in the copy is the same. I change only domain name in database dump.

Why WordPress don’t load options in a copy with new domain name? Maybe it connected with some cache functionality.

Theme in the copy is the same.

In the loal install, it is still anew theme. You will need to set the menus etc up again.

Why WordPress don’t load options in a copy with new domain name

Because that’s not how it is designed to work.

Ok, but I copy all of the files and database.

Where wordpress keep the information about theme options?

I need to do this automaticly.

Esmi, thank you for your help.

Where wordpress keep the information about theme options?

In the wp-options table of the database.

    Sorry for my missunderstanding.

I copy whole wp_options table too and when I check in database of the wp copy options for the theme are set correctly, but wp dont load it. Do you know why?

If you want to clone the site, did you review Moving_WordPress?
