• Hi,

I am trying to duplicate a site so I can keep it live while making changes to the new one. I called go daddy and they walked me through copying the wp-content folder and adding it to the new directory I will be working in. Well, everything went as planned except nothing but the themes are showing up on my new site. Looking in the file manager I see the images and and everything there just not showing up on site. Godaddy said they don’t know why and I have to contact a WordPress person. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

  • Did they have you copy the database as well?

Take a look at the steps for moving a WordPress site in the Codex and make sure you didn’t skip anything.

Thank you yes I just did that and now I get this error

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/15/7795515/html/Duplicate/wp-content/plugins/landing-pages/landing-pages.php on line 124

That makes me think you have an issue with the plugin Landing Pages. You might try temporarily disabling it to see if that is the problem. If you don’t have access to the admin side yet, you can try just renaming the /Duplicate/wp-content/plugins/landing-pages directory to something like /Duplicate/wp-content/plugins/landing-pages-test and reload the page where you got the error.

    That did it! Thanks!
