Hi, first of all, congratulations on the plugin. Clean graphics and essential informations.
I read that you like suggestions on new implementations. I have searched a solution and have not found the way and here you are.
Let me explain: I’m creating a platform (on local server) for outdoor digital advertising space rental based on Woocommerce. Every bookable advertising space is geolocalized with latitude and longitude through the Geo Mashup plugin and I would like to insert a dynamic Weather Atlas widget in every product page to show the weather in the advertising location based on your plugin and Openweather. Is it possible to pass in the background the two geographical data (geo_latitude and geo-longitude fields) of the product page to the widget and let it show temperature and weather conditions?
We also have an ad server (Foyer plugin) that provides streaming of the campaign file to the owner of the advertising space for the duration of the booking (we send a URL that streams because owners use many different systems. Is it possible to publish a different file depending on the type of weather conditions?
Let me explain better: if I read and understood correctly, Openweather provides 9 icons for weather conditions (both day and night): clear sky, few clouds, scattered clouds, broken clouds, shower rain, rain, thunderstorm, snow, mist. I’d like the ad server to transmit the graphics for each condition when it occurs (I read that your plugin refreshes the information every 15 minutes)
Do you think it can be done?
    Thanks and good job

    Hello,

thanks for the complements. But let’s get to the point of implementation.

The Weather Atlas widget usage is free and under the fair usage policies – meaning the usage of one web site should not affect the performance of our system nor the rest of the widget’s users. As we have a steady growth of sites (over 10.000 at the moment) who have implemented the widget – we have limited the number of locations per www.
2nd obstacle is that we do not provide the location per lat and lon, but for a specific named location.
Therefore I believe your idea is not implementable at the moment.

There’s a plan to expand the possibilities of the widget into a full WP weather page and unlimited calls, powered by Open Weather data, but we can not set the date on this next version yet.

    Thanks for the information.

    No problem.
We’re doing our best considering the (covid) situation.
