Support » Plugin: GDPR Cookie Compliance » Cookies not deleted

    I have setup the Matomo script in the “additional cookie” header section. The cookies will only be set if I accept it in the consent banner.

    If I go to the consent settings and deactivate them, nothing happens. First it was working, all cookies have been deleted… but now, nothing.

    I changed the tracking code from “additional cookes” to “3rd party cookies”… not working.
    I added both, the matomo and the google analytics script to the header section of “additional cookies”… the google analytics cookies will be deleted, but not the matomo cookies.

    I de-installed the GDPR Cookie Compliance plugin and re-installed it. No changes. Deinstalation didn’t deleted the seetings in the database, so it was no clean deletion.

    Any idea what happened and how to solve it?

    https://test.dlgo.de/

    1) If you open the site, no cookies wil be set
    2) If you click on “zustimmen” (accept) in the top banner 4 cookies will be set
    3) If you go into the settings through the floating button down left and there deactivate the section “Zusätzliche Cookies”, 3 out of 4 will not be deleted

    The code I have placed in the header of “Zusätzliche Cookies” is the following:

    <!-- Matomo -->
    <script type="text/javascript">
      var _paq = window._paq || [];
      /* tracker methods like "setCustomDimension" should be called before "trackPageView" */
      _paq.push(['trackPageView']);
      _paq.push(['enableLinkTracking']);
      (function() {
        var u="//analytics.xxxxxxxxx.de/";
        _paq.push(['setTrackerUrl', u+'matomo.php']);
        _paq.push(['setSiteId', '2']);
        var d=document, g=d.createElement('script'), s=d.getElementsByTagName('script')[0];
        g.type='text/javascript'; g.async=true; g.defer=true; g.src=u+'matomo.js'; s.parentNode.insertBefore(g,s);
      })();
    </script>
    <!-- End Matomo Code -->

    Sure, the “move…” cookies needs to keep staying there, but the both “_pk…” cookies” needs to be deleted.
    The only one which will be deleted is the Matomo session cookie

    For testing I have de-installed and re-installed Matomo. Your plugin de-installation doesn’t removed the DB entries.

    I setup a fresh WordPress installation (new DB) with just your plugin (v4.2.2) installed… it’s the same, the Matomo cookies will not be deleted.

    Thanks 🙂 test.dlgo I set up 3 days ago for testing, but test2.dlgo.de is less than 1 hour old and nothing changed than installing your plugin and using the code from the new matomo installation.

    When I look into the development console (F12) of Chrome I see that the code which is deployed through the header section of “additional cookies” will disapear when I disable the “additional cookie” section through the floating button. Just the cookies won’t disapear…

    Maybe disabling the tracking code but keeping the cookies for later us is needed for tracking reasons? But than it should be the same with Google Analytics… If I disable the section the Matomo Analytics cookies keep staying there and the Google Analytics cookies will be deleted. Think the Matomo Analytics cookies should be deleted like the Google Analytics Cookies… right?

    Any update?
    Is there an update of “GDPR Cookie Compliance” needed?
