    Hello,
I would like to know how the “Statistics” and “Marketing” cookie categories are configured.
How do I know which cookies are classified in these categories?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hello @btom76,
After completing the Cookie Scan and clicking “Sync with CookieDatabase.org”, then finishing the Wizard to generate your Cookie Policy, the plugin will have created a categorized overview of all the Cookies used on your website.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

Thank you for your reply. However, I have chosen not to use “Sync with CookieDatabase.org”, is it possible to know in which categories the cookies are classified?

Hi @btom76 If you have never synced with cookiedatabase, you could of course use a search engine to find the purpose and the function of these cookies. To help our users with this daunting task and to keep the information that you offer to your visitors always up to date, we created an easy possibility to receive that information automatically and free of charge from cookiedatabase.org. I’m not sure if you have seen this, but the wizard gives the following “warning” should you decide not to use the solution that has been offered:

Without the API, you will have to manually describe all found cookies, their purpose, function, service and service types.

Luckily you can always go back to this step in the wizard and choose to connect with cookiedatabase.

    Hi @btom76,

I would suggesting synching once, it’s free and doesn’t share any sensitive information. You can disable after a sync and information will remain locally.

    regards Aert

Thank you for your answers. Regarding the use of the cookiedatabase API, can you confirm that there is no sending of sensitive data? (Such as session cookies for example)
