# cookies blocking admin

 * The public side of our blog is fine, but I’m no longer able to login.
 * Whenever I submit the correct user name + password, the following appears on 
   screen:
 * ——————-
    ERROR: Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser. You must
   enable cookies to use WordPress. ——————-
 * All cookies are enabled.
 * I’ve tried the hack to wp-login.php found on this page:
    [http://wordpress.org/support/topic/cookie-error-when-logging-in?replies=117](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/cookie-error-when-logging-in?replies=117)
 * but it only results to a redirect to the login page which becomes blank.
 * Ideas anyone???

 * Try disabling all your plugins be renaming the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory
   via FTP.

 * Doing so granted access which allowed me to run the 3.8.1 update.
