  • Do you have a login plugin?
If so, you may have to deactivate it by going through your host account > cPanel > public_html > wp-content > plugins to find the login plugin folder.
Right-click on the login plugin folder and choose “Rename”.
    Add XXX behind the name.
    See if you can login.

I don’t have any login plugin, just plain WordPress login.

Then, try deactivating all your plugins by going through your host account > cPanel > public_html > wp-content > plugins.
Right-click on the plugins folder and choose “Rename”.
    Add XXX behind plugins.
    See if you can login.

If that doesn’t work then, leave the plugins folder deactivated and try deactivating your current theme (which will force the default 2016 theme to activate) by going through your host account > cPanel > public_html > wp-content > themes.
Right-click on your current theme folder and choose “Rename”.
    Add XXX behind its name.
    See if you can login.

my site was auto-updated to 4.4.2 and I am having the same problem. No trouble shooting has fixed it. I disabled all plugins. Didn’t work. I switched themes back to default. Didn’t work. Another site on my same server and same computer and same browser but still at 4.3.3 is working fine. Any word on why this is happening?

Please start your own topic as per Forum Welcome: Where To Post

Posting your own topic is smiled upon… …do not post in someone else’s thread. Start your own topic. Choose your section from the forum front page. After following the appropriate link, start a new topic by clicking the “Add New »” button to the right of the section’s title.

If you have a question about a specific theme or plugin, then we suggest visiting the homepage of the theme/plugin first and creating your topic on its support page. This has the effect of tagging the post with that item’s name, making it more visible to the author and making it more clear what your post is about. You’re more likely to get a response this way.

When you start a new topic, try to use an appropriate title. “Database error creating a new post” is a good title. “URGENT HELP PLS!!!” is not a good title. A good title can be the difference between getting help and not.
