• Hi,

the new website scan finds cookies from Automattic and others, and lists them properly in the wizard. This is ok, because I am using Akismet spam protection. However, the Automattic cookie is not listed in the cookie policy, unlike the other cookies. And no, it is NOT set as admin cookie.

Why is this cookie missing in the cookie policy?

    Thanks

    Hello @dillhausen ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I’m sorry to hear this. Can you please check if this issue is resolved by trying to sync the cookies? You can do this by clicking on “Sync” in Wizard > Consent > Cookiedatabase.org. This should synchronize your cookie list in your backend with the one displayed on the front end.

Please let me know. I remain at your disposal.

    Best regards,
    Antonio

    hi @antoiub ,

    no, it does not help!

Strange thing is: the sync button is always disabled when I first run the wizard. After completeing the wizard the first time, I have to go to the sync button again and then it is enabled.

But I managed to sync and the error persists.

    Thanks

Edit: here is a screenshot of the automattic part of the wizard: https://hosting196091.ae93c.netcup.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/automattic-cookie-in-wizard.jpg

    Hello,

    could you please:

    1. Follow this guide if you’re using a cache plugin
    2. Clear the detected cookies from our plugin section “Wizard” -> “Consent” -> “Website Scan” and then do another scan and sync again the cookies

    Hi @leonardotamion ,

thanks. I don’t use caching, so #1 did not apply. I followed #2 but still the same, sorry.

    Hello @dillhausen ,

Does the cookiedatabase.org section show a language selector? It might be that you are syncing the cookies in the wrong language. A selector usually appears when the site language is first set to English, Complianz is installed, and then switched to another language. Here’s a screenshot for reference: https://prnt.sc/nghUwm_BELGP.
If yes, please select the language in use on the page and click on sync.

Let us know, looking forward to hearing you.

    Hi @antoiub and @leonardotamion ,

the language selector shows en and de (German). No matter what I select here, the cookie policy is the same (in German and without the Automattic cookie).

    Thanks

    Hi @antoiub,

    thanks for your continued support!

Unfortunately, after new sync with cookiedatabase, the Automattic cookies are still missing in the cookie policy. I even tried to delete all cookies and start the search from scratch, but no success.

I don’t know who set this to resolved, but the issue is still there (see my last reply). I have set it to unresolved again.
