  • I usually comment out the line “RewriteCond %{HTTP:Cookie} !^.*(comment_author_|wordpress_logged_in|wp-postpass_).*$” in the .htaccess file, and then today, when I enabled the “make all users anonymous” setting, and realized that if I hadn’t commented out the cookie bit, it wouldn’t work at all.

    So, it seems to me that when someone enables the “make known users anonymous” you should remove that line from the .htaccess.

    And maybe it should be tied to the “don’t cache pages for known users”. (I always have that unchecked).
