    Hey Opa,

I was wondering if there is a way to convert and album consisting of .png’s into .jpg’s.

What is happening is I have a WPPA album but not the original images. I only have the WPPA album itself. Is there a way I can grab the album photos, convert them on my local computer and somehow get those jpg’s associated with the old album?

    Thank you for any help!

Use the Photo Albums -> Export Photos admin page to export the photos on the album along with (a part of) their metadata.

Why would you convert .pngs to .jpgs?

The resulted .zip is in your depot folder .../wp-content/wppa-depot/yourname/

If your depot folder does not exist, just visit the import page once and do nothing.

    Thanks Opa!

If I wanted to then REPLACE the images in my gallery with the converted jpgs is there an easy way to do that or is the gallery forever linked to the .png version of the images.

Mostly curious about this one since I have a few large sized images that will benefit from a smaller footprint on my site.

What i forgot to metion is that, IF you saved sources during upload (Table IX-H1 and 2) you can simply ftp …/wp-content/uploads/wppa-source/album-xx where xx is the album number.

I can make you a custom proc (to be inserted in Table VIII-B99) to convert all .pngs to jpgs and change the db info accordingly. Should be the easiest way. Just re-upload with a different filetype on the album admin page will not work.
