Converting pages to posts in bulk?

Hi,

I have about 200 pages that I want to convert to posts (a custom post type). Can I do this by editing the database and changing the field post_type in the wp_posts table from “page” to “post” or is there more to it than that? If there is more to it what do I need to change? Can I still easily do it by editing the database?

I need to keep everything else the same, especially my URL structure and permalinks.
