converting archive.php in a theme to UTF8 corrupts the design in IE

    Hi all,
    I’m using this template:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/elegant-box/

    when i try to convert the file archive.php (to localize some terms) to UTF8 in notepad, in firefox, the archive file looks great, but when viewing it in IE, the page is messed up, if i restore the original archive.php (ANSI) everything works fine.

    any idea what is goin on in here?
