  • Very clean and simple. I like. What did you convert from? Welcome to the WP community!!!

Hi, I started off with Kubrick default but the end result was far from it, as you see. I fiddled with a number of designs and in the end settled on simple being the best.

Sweet. What did you convert it from? MT, TextPattern, ??

I was on MT, then Typepad now WordPress. Exported from Typepad and imported to WP.

    Nik,

Very nice looking. As a new blogger any pointers you can offer me in converting my Kubrick default into some similar. Not anything as nice, but better looking than the Kubrick default.

Looks good. Very clean. I like it.

My only criticism is that the code in <pre> tags looks tiny on my display (1280 x 1024) — almost too small to read properly; the ‘%’ character is actually too small to read.

Interesting … the <pre> text looks fine in IE6, but very small in Firefox 1.0.3. Even on my 19″ monitor at 1280 x 1024, under Windows XP Professional.

Another example of IE rendering font sizes differently to — I suspect — the W3C recommendation. (I do hope that this is fixed in IE7, along with the box-model problem, and …)

I really wish that I could be supportive and appreciative of full width (percentage based) positioning schemes. But I cant. The lack of support of max width in IE leads to unmanageable line lengths IMHO. And even on a small flat screen the width of your design is too wide. Sorry. Just my 2cents.

Yah – the <pre> stuff is teensy tiny on 1600×1200 on FF and not any too large on IE. Otherwise very nice, Nik.

Don’t hold your breath for “IE7”, gareth.

Totally agreed with Root on this one 😡

Long time no see Max 🙂

Yeh 😉 Hey mate 😀 was busy with life and stuff 😛 But finally took some time and updated my blog from *1.1* to 1.5. I ran 1.1 for a bit more then 1 year and if not spam, I wouldn’t upgrade :p

Anyway, nice to see old faces here 🙂

You guys are right – but I hear rumours of a max-width hack for IE which I am tracking down now. I will post an update on the results of that search here.

I have made some minor changes in the interim.

Thank you all very much for your feedback – appreciated.
