Thanks for this great plugin. As suggested, I have tested the free version before buying the full version with more currencies and live update.

We used to use the wootheme currency switcher, that had no Geotargeting. Therefore I have tested this plugin. Our shop is in EUR and people pay in EUR, but the old plugin showed e.g. USD also in Checkout.

I figured out the two option “allow multiple currencies” but I assume that might confuse customers if the currency is changing. When I keep multiple currencies, our STRIPE account is not accepting the payment as it’s in USD. For us, it’s the best to accept everything in EUR, anyway.

    Is there a way to

    – show converted currency
    – pay in local currency

Which is for credit card payments not a big issue typically. I could imagine, that using some php code provided in the documentation in the checkout template can do the job, but ideally it can be done via some options or setting.

Thanks a lot for the great work!

    Hello

show converted currency + pay in local currency – you should set multiple mode to No, and currency on checkout page will be reset to basic, and welcome currency you can as USD. Any way I see no way how avoid showing USD on checkout page and make payment in EUR. Experiments with it on real shops showed me that it can be dangerous – amount of order can be wrong …

    There is one idea:
You can set multiple mode to yes, but on checkout page hide when current currency is USD using this hint: http://currency-switcher.com/how-to-hide-payment-gateway-on-checkout/

    Hi Realmag,

    thanks for the quick reply.

    1. multiple mode to No: This might be confusing for the customer, but more accurate, I agree

    2. Any way I see no way how avoid showing USD on checkout page and make payment in EUR. Experiments with it on real shops showed me that it can be dangerous – amount of order can be wrong …
    > I understand what you’re saying. The old plugin was ‘simply’ showing in frontend the USD values, while the feature layer operated in EUR

    3. About your idea:
    > That would require, that we want to accept payments in USD, and have different gateways depending on the currency. But I’ll clarify this with Stripe

    4. What do you think about the idea, show the customer both converted and our local currency?

    Thanks

    Hello Cognac

#4 – but it is realized already – http://demo.currency-switcher.com – make mouse over on blue icon near price of the product – there are all another products in different currencies. You can enable it in the plugin settings:
tab Options -> ‘Show price info icon‘. Do you mean such feature?

    Hi there,

that’s a nice feature, but not sure if relevant for us. I am talking about the checkout. The customers is paying in our local currency, but we show additionally the selected currency (e.g. USD) to give him an idea, what he’s actually paying. Something like

“You pay 220 USD (billed as 190 EUR)”

    Cheers

    Hello
Understood you, not such text-feature on the checkout page now, but it is good idea. Bill customers with basic currency of the shop but show him his currency which technically was previous selected by him… Good, I added it to the plugin road-map … Thank you …
