 * Hello
 * I want to build a larger site with customisation that I believe is not possible
   with WordPress.
 * I was thinking to start with a more simple WordPress site to build traffic, while
   I’m learning Ruby on Rails and building the Ruby on Rails version on the side
   in the next year.
 * Can I, next year, just replace the WordPress-website with the Ruby on Rails-website
   and not lose any traffic?
 * Or is it possible to convert the wordpress website to Ruby on Rails?
 * Thank you very much.
    Jonas

 * Well, Ruby on Rails is just a web application framework, not exactly a CMS on
   its own. It’s a bit like asking if it’s safe to replace your car with a highway.
   So, you should probably start with figuring out which Ruby-backed CMS you’re
   going to convert to first.
 * With that said though, once you decide on that, you should be asking *their*
   support. The likelihood of finding anyone able to help here who has also converted
   WordPress to something else is pretty slim. Most of us are helping here in the
   WordPress Support Forums because we’re happy with WordPress.
 * Also, before you decide that WordPress won’t be enough for a large site, take
   a look through [https://wordpress.org/showcase/](https://wordpress.org/showcase/)
   especially tags like [https://wordpress.org/showcase/tag/news/](https://wordpress.org/showcase/tag/news/)
