 * From July 2018 I read that google will notify people that http is not longer 
   safe and it needs to be converted to https.

 * First of all, you need to check with your hosting that SSL is enabled. Further,
   once the SSL is enabled, you can change the URL from http to https through WordPress
   Dashboard Settings >> General
    Wordpress Address & Site Address.
 * In case you wish to force the User to redirect them to Https, you can use EASY
   HTTPS REDIRECTION WordPress Plugin or do that via .htaccess file
