Conversion to Permalinks

Hi. I searched the archives and did not find an answer to this question, sorry if I missed it.

Basically, I started a new WP site (www.shanarts.com) and did not turn on permalinks. Now, when I turn permalinks on, the old links break.

Is there a simple FAQ that explains how to do this conversion?
