Conversion: Drupal -> WP?

  • My love/hate relationship with Drupal has recently swung violently back towards hate. I’m seriously considering converting the lone Drupal site that I’m running over to WordPress. Has anyone else made such a conversion? Are there any scripts available for transfering blogs/users?

  • We don’t yet have a Drupal to WP conversion script. I think Drupal does a lot more than manage a weblog, and so I really would know what’s involved, but does Drupal export the posts in xml/text/rrs2 feed ?
    Otherwise a db to db transfer of content seems the only way.

    Yes, Drupal does quite a bit more, but I’m just looking to transfer the blog postings and user database.
    I’d considered importing the RSS feeds. Is there a WP script to import RSS to posts?

    I believe that there is. I remember using it to import sourceforge rss feeds once. You should be able to find it in the wiki.

    I just moved from Drupal to WP 1.5. To do so, I wrote a couple of SQL statements that should do the work. It’s not perfect, but you can find the details here: http://vrypan.net/log/archives/2005/03/10/migrating-from-drupal-to-wordpress/
