• My webhost moved me to a new server this morning, requiring name server changes.

My website, http://www.officetally.com, is viewable, however, if I go to any of the site admin panels, parts of the functionality are missing.

    Examples:

    – Write > Write Post: no place to enter text or save it. Screenshot

    – Write > Write Page: see those extranenous lines of code indicating a problem. Screenshot

    – Options > General: missing options. Screenshot

And so forth … pretty much all admin screens have missing functionality. I did a ‘view source’ to see if the code was actually there, but it isn’t.

I am using Mac OS 10.4.7, Firefox 1.5.0.1, WordPress 2.0. Plugins installed: Akismet, Democracy, iCal Events, Optimal Title, Paged Comments, PHP Exec, Subscribe to Comments, Votio, and Witty.

I noticed that deactivating some of the plugins would result in more admin functionality coming back, but not all of it.

Is this possibly a PHP memory issue, as documented at http://wordpress.org/support/topic/70146? If so, should I request 12MB max memory (or whatever amount I had on my old server) from my host, or more?

    Or is it something else?

I also noticed that using the W3C Markup Validator produces an error message “500 EOF when chunk header expected,” but don’t know if the problems are related.

I’m at my wit’s end, as I cannot add, edit, or delete posts, or change any of my settings.

    Your insight is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    🙂 Jennie

  • From your description it sounds like some of the files didn’t make it intact. May be the time to upgrade to 2.0.3 or get the distro you installed with and delete wp-admin/ and re-upload wp-admin/ (and all the files in wp-admin ;’)
