Support » Theme: Lovecraft » Control formatting of captions?

    When I insert a picture with a caption, I get a lot of white space around the caption. And the caption font does not match the rest of the post.I’m wondering if there’s any way to fix these issues.

  • Do you have a link to a live site where this issue is happening? Don’t see one added to this thread and didn’t find a domain listed on your profile here.

    Well, the site contains sensitive information so I was reluctant to link to it. So I was trying to set up a scrubbed version of one of the posts giving me trouble and found a weird thing. When I access the post in the same instance of the browser I use to create posts and maintain the site, I get the weird spacing. But when I access the same post from a different instance of the browser, the spacing is not problematic. So I have no idea what might be going on that is browser dependent the way this problem seems.

    However, any guidance on change the default caption font would be most welcome.

    Hi @mmckaibab,

    Lovecraft uses a sans-serif font called Lato for the image captions (as well as in a lot of other places, like the sidebar, footer and post meta). To change it, go to Appearance → Customize → Additional CSS (the menu labels might be different in your language) and add the code below:

    .post-content .wp-caption-text, .post-content .gallery-caption, .post-content figcaption {
        font-family: 'Georgia', serif;

    That should change it to have the same font as the rest of the post content.
