Control and aesthetics when darkening is necessary

Unfortunately, I suffer from a bothersome photophobia, which completely blinds me for several minutes when I look at a snow-white page, and to a lesser extent, when looking at light-colored pages. Until I found this plugin, the options for avoiding glare didn’t address the problem properly, as they simply darkened and dimmed the screen without any control and, above all, without offering me any variety or nuance of dark colors, some of which were aesthetically pleasing.

    Hi @loqax,

Thank you so much for this thoughtful review, and a 5-star rating! We’re really glad Darkify has made such a real difference for you — especially given how debilitating photophobia can be with a plain white/light page.

That’s exactly the gap we built Darkify to fill: not just a blanket dimmer, but actual control — variety of dark tones, per-element adjustments, and a theme that’s designed to look good, not just “less bright.” It means a lot to hear that came through for you.

If you ever run into a page or element that isn’t darkening the way you’d like, feel free to reach out through our support threads — happy to help fine-tune it further.

Thanks again for taking the time to share this! 🙏
