I’m new to WordPress and having trouble finding the right solution to what I’m trying to do. I’m creating a non-profit organization (right now, it’s just me managing the site in free time) — inside the website, I want to have a forum section that that people can access when they’re registered and have gone through a vetting process.I want to set it up so guests can see the highest level forum subjects but not the topics until they’re registered. I’ve looked at bbpress and wpforo — I like the wpforo layout, but all of the membership plugins I’ve looked at appear to be expensive and more for collecting payments. I don’t plan to be taking payments – I just need to screen people with some questions before I allow them in. Any suggestions on a cost-effective solution for the forum and membership plugins/approaches?

    Hi there,

At the moment WPUM does not provide such restrictions features.

Based on your case I believe WPUM can only provide help in regards to the registration of the user. You could use WPUM to create the signup form and you’ll need the paid verification add-on that you can find on wpusermanager.com so you can manually process signups.

In terms of restricting access to forums I’m not sure about the best option here. I’ve never used wpforo so I can’t recommend here but if they provide an option to restrict access to forums to logged in members only then you should be good to go.

    Hope this helps.
