Ideally contributors and Authors should not even see the Contact menu item in the Admin Panel.

Thanks, but shouldn't the restriction be default behavior as it is for other plugins and functions?

Tried the instructions. It works. Kindof!

When I restrict access for a role, say contributor, that role can still see the menu Item "Contact", clicking on which takes to a list of forms, complete with "Edit" link under each form.

Sure enough, clicking Edit only shows the role the sortcode for that form, but it's misleading and annoying nonetheless.

If I restrict read access, then the role shouldn't even see the "Contact" item in the left menu.
