Support » Plugin: WP Super Cache » Contradictions In Settings Dashboard…?

  • Hi,

I’m not sure the plugin is caching… When I use the Cache Tester, I get a message that reads, “The pages do not match! Timestamps differ or were not found!”.

Well, I’ve searched for the timestamp that is supposed to be at the end of the source, and I can’t find it at all. With that said, in the “Contents” tab, it reads:
    WP-Cache (30.51KB)
    3 Cached Pages
    0 Expired Pages

    WP-Super-Cache (69.51KB)
    1 Cached Pages
    0 Expired Pages

    Sooo… huh?

I am using mod_rewrite and everything is set up correctly in .htaccess. (As an aside, I was using PHP and noticed no load time improvement when switching to mod_rewrite. Don’t know if that means anything, but there you go).

I am also using Autoptimize, CloudFlare and have CDN Support enabled (via Max CDN). I’m wondering, actually, if one or both of the the CDNs aren’t synced-up properly with WP Supercache or v. versa…(?).

At any rate, the site is brand new and is not yet getting traffic, but shouldn’t all the pages be cached?

I switched from W3TC to this one for a lighter plugin on this site, but WP Supercache has me more mystified than that hulking thing ever did. 😉

Thanks for any help in advance.

Switch off CloudFlare and the CDN stuff first as they’ll make debugging it a lot harder. Now go into wp-content/cache/ and see what files are in the various directories. Don’t bother listing them here, just check which ones and then try to load them in a logged out browser.

Use the debug log and load a page. It will probably tell you a lot about what’s happening.
