• Hi all,

I’m curious as to what you all think the best way to handle this situation is.

We currently have two blogs, and we want to close one down and move all of the content from that blog to the other blog. Obviously, they key part of this question is how to do with as little negative SEO impact as possible.

    My initial thought is this:
    1. Copy all of the images from Blog A to Blog B.
    2. Individually copy/paste each post from Blog A to Blog B.
    3. Manually re-direct each permalink from Blog A to the corresponding page at Blog B.

But, as you can imagine, that’s a hugely time consuming chore.

    Any other ideas?

  • Export all posts/files from Blog A and then import to Blog B (blog B will automatically download attached media, if you enable this option)

For your third part…I feel like there should be some sort of plugin out there for redirection. I’m not so sure though.

    Thanks for the reply!
Is there any risk when importing posts onto a live blog?

There are redirection plugins, but I’m worried about the SEO implications of doing a bulk redirect to Blog B’s homepage.
