• Hi i am starting my own music journalism site. http://www.contrastcontrol.net

I would like to include a music player that will play no matter what part of the site you visit. I don’t know if there are licensing issues if i were to upload the mp3s on a local based player or if a streaming service like spotify would save me some nasty emails.

I am running the tempera template and absolutely in love with it so i’d like to keep that and launch my site with it. If there are any suggestions on what i can do that’d be awesome! Plus, this article might be handy for the next person trying to google the issue.

  • Hello James,

Hmm, there is no easy way to do this. I suggest you read this nice q&a about the idea you have: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15612120/how-do-i-make-an-audio-file-play-continuously-on-all-pages

    Hope it helps! 🙂

    Cheers!

I think i’ll go with the suggestion of a new window pop out player. That way i can embed a spotify playlist and not worry about licensing issues if i upgrade local mp3s. Thanks for the article it was informative and helped me come to the most likely and simple solution.

I want to feature songs from the artists i interview and review on the site to make it a special feature of my site. I have the mobile part of the site looking good so i want this to cater to desktop visitors so yeah pop out works best. I’ll consult my brother who does web design to make it work thanks for sharing it helped out big time!
