  • Hi, have you checked under Settings in the Dashboard whether full text or a summary is selected?

    Hello, it was full text by default, I changed it to summary but no difference appears.

    Your theme is a commercial theme and as we have on the Welcome page, we don’t have access to all themes. One other suggestion is to change the theme to a default WordPress theme like twenty fourteen and see if that displays the posts as excerpts. Also deactivating all plugins and if that produces the result you like, then reactivating them one by one until you find the culprit.

    But again the suggestions are limited and further action involves contacting the theme developer.

    Commercial Products
    If you use a commercial theme or plugin and need support, please go to their official support channel. In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations. Doing this will provide the developer with the income they need to make WordPress awesome.

    Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. This is one other reason why volunteers forward you to the commercial product’s vendors. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product.

    I have activated the Twenty Twelve theme but the issue remains. After deactivating all the plugins also no difference seen.

    And you did hit “save changes” when you switched from full text to summary? I do not mean to be insulting, I just know what after three years with WordPress I still often go to hit my command S keyboard save shortcut.

    I admit I might have run out of my knowledge, I did find a post where the content.php file was changed, which you might try with your theme.

    Another more knowledgable volunteer might also weigh in with his/her brilliance. I apologize that I can’t help more and will keep track of the follow-up for my future knowledge.

    Yes, Changing the <?php the_content to this; <?php the_excerpt in content.php helps. All it does is that it just compresses the post. But Continue reading or Read more button is not appearing.:(

    I’m sorry, I should have thought of this, I think I’ve used this before and then customized the class. I can’t think of the example on the site I did, I searched for this and found the post under it.

    <?php the_excerpt(); ?><span class=”read_more”>“>[ Read More → ]</span>

    I already have:

    <?php the_excerpt( __ ( ‘<span class=”btn btn-small”>Continue reading</span>’, ‘dw-minion’ ) ); ?>
