Content Type + Taxonomy + Permalinks? (5 posts)

I'm trying to strike the right chord and find the right way to achieve a method organization and proper permalinks within WP 3.0. I am not quite there yet. I'm open for suggestions are insight on how others utilizing these new features.

my design business is aug4th.com. I want users to be able to view aug4th.com/projects for a list of all projects.

I want to utilize a custom content type that will be a project.

I also want to implement a taxonomy that describes projects as such: web, design, identity, etc.

I then want my permalinks to be something like this:

aug4th.com/projects (a list of all projects)
aug4th.com/projects/taxonomyterm (for example: web, design, identity)
aug4th.com/projects/myclientswebsite (a content type post showing details on a project) OR aug4th.com/projects/taxonomyterm/myclientswebsite (another alternative permalink)

I've created the content type, I've created the taxonomy but the process of getting the right permalinks I want is proving to be tricky.

First of all, is there a conflict with permalinks if I have a content type of the same name as a tax. term?

Has anyone magically pulled this off?

Oh, and then I want to be able to create a menu link that goes to "projects/" to show a list of all projects. Unfortunately the new 3.0 doesn't seem to have an option to link to Content Type unless I'm mistaken.

It does seem like there is a conflict if the terms are the same. I set mine to have some like "DC-comics" and the other "dc-comics" which seems to be a temporary solution.

Yeah, it's tough finding info on Custom Post Type related problems. The information in the codex feels a bit out of date, often refers to pre 3.0 release stuff and so on.
