Support » Plugin: Ultimate Member - User Profile & Membership Plugin » “Content Restriction Redirect URL” required field?

  • Hi – I’m editing a custom taxonomy, and I can’t save changes until I specify a redirect URL for users who can’t see the content. I’ve checked “Content visible to everyone”, which means I don’t need a redirect… but I can’t save the page without one.

    Help, please! 🙂

  • This doesn’t appear to be a UM issue. You are at the wrong forum.

? This is a UM option… I don’t see how this is the wrong forum??

This occurs when changing permissions from logged-in users to “Content accessible by everyone”. I reproduced it by creating a new category, restricting it to logged-in users (worked fine) then changing permissions to “everyone”; this is where the problem occurs.

I cannot save the changes without specifying a URL redirect, but I don’t need to redirect anyone anywhere.

Again, that’s not a UM issue because it has no function to create taxonomies. If the function is asking you to create a url, try inserting this to the url field: /#
It should not redirect except to the page itself…

    Thank you, I’ll try that.

I’m sure other users have plugins that create taxonomies, and someone else may run into this situation. It’s a UM issue in the sense that there’s a hitch in the way it plays with other plugins. (They both work fine on their own, and the problem is in the UM options, not the other plugin’s.)

I’m not using the paid version of UM yet, so can’t post this on the UM site; if the plugin developers are interested in looking into it I’d be happy to provide more information.

For what it worth, there is no paid version of UM. There is only paid support and paid extensions. 🙂

Yes, I realize I should have said that differently. 🙂
