Support » Fixing WordPress » content of uploaded pdf files does not show

  • I have used the browser loader (on the dashboards “add page”)to upload pdf file to a page. The upload seems to go well and appears as a link on the add page in the dashboard. The link also appears on the actual page on my web site. When I click the link, a blank page opens in my web browser, but the pdf file does not appear. I am stuck with a blank browser page that has the pdf file’s name at the top. This does not happen with docx files — only with pdf. I would much appreciate help. Thank you!

  • The correct behavior should be that when you click on the link, it downloads. Can you post a link to your site?

Thanks for your response. Yes. I can add a page, upload a pdf file to the page, and publish the page. When I go to the page on my site, the pdf link is there. Clicking on the link opens a blank page, but the pdf does not download. I am left with only the blank page (which has the same title as the link).

Hmmm. I just discovered that this seems to be a problem w/my computer, not w/my WordPress site. Suddenly, my Firefox browser will not download pdf files from anywhere. On a different computer, the pdf files download fine for me. Sorry to bother you!

I just ran into this myself. Apparently firefox has implemented a glitch.

Yes, the other computer I used has an older version of firefox.
