Support » Fixing WordPress » content not showing up…

  • I used <?php the_content() ?> where I wanted the entry content to show up, but it’s blank. Also, only the first entry date and time show up on the page. Here is my template: what am I doing wrong?
    <?php
    /* Don’t remove these lines. */
    $blog = 1;
    require(‘wp-blog-header.php’);
    // Uncomment the next line if you want to track blog updates from weblogs.com
    //include_once(ABSPATH.WPINC.’/links-update-xml.php’);
    ?>
    <?php include(“header.html”);?>
    <b><u><?php the_time() ?></u></b> (<?php the_title() ?>)
    <br><?php the_content(“read more”,”0″,”blah.php”) ?>
    <div align=right>Maxine [“>input?]</div>
    <p align=center><!–<?php echo $wpdb->querycount; ?> queries.–> <?php timer_stop(1); ?> || <cite>Powered by WordPress</cite>
    <?php include(“footer.html”);?>

    Thre’s no “loop”…. there needs to be a foreach loop that will pull each of the posts…. take a look at the default index.php that comes with WP, search for “foreach” that should show you what more you need to do.

    I added it, and now it’s giving me a parse error on line 17. My current line 17 has:
    <?php include(“footer.html”); ?>

    Try getting the default index.php and working backward from that.

    I’ve tried that, but I can never figure out which codes are for what. @_@; There’s lots of excess stuff…do you think you could tell me which ones are required for it to work?
