i just installed a wordpress on my site (http://forever-digital.net) and i put up an entry to test it out. when i incorporated it into my index page, the only part of the blog that shows is the letter "y" (which happens to be the 1st letter in the blog)
does anyone know why this is happening and how i can fix it? when i access the blog by it's direct URL (http://forever-digital.net/wp) i can see the entire blog!!
thanks for ur help in advance!

You've got so many scripts loading there, so much going on.... I think maybe you might want to cut back to bare WP install, make sure it's working properly, THEN install your other scripts one by one. At some point, you'll install something and you'll lose wp's posting again - at that point you'll know what caused it assuming it's a rogue script.

Okay, I've taken a look, and after a week, it's okay to bump.

The theme isn't coming in, unless you want a full screen of white page with text. I'd try uploading your theme again to the wp-content/themes/themename/ folder and selecting that theme from your Presentation admin screen to see if that works. But I see more than a single letter.

And from what I see, there is no header, footer, or sidebar "includes" which means that the theme you choose either isn't working, or they aren't there to include.

You did, Lorelle? I see the theme, and the posts titles, but only the single letter y in one post, and i in the second.

I looked at it with Firefox and MSIE and it looks like straight text to me.

still trying to get WP to work

i’m not liking wordpress…it’s not cooperating with me. all that’s showing up is the 1st letter of the post..stupid thing

Still, do the above recommendations and try again.

I'm with vkaryl. Lorell, you must have a magical computer :) All I can see (even in source code) are the single letter posts.

I did. Sorry. Okay, I ran a validation on the main site, because there are no clean links to the WP posts, and it is missing the DOCTYPE and has some problems that have to be addressed.

These problems could be part of your problem, or they could be minor, but they are the place to start.

Are you using a theme you created or did you just copy and paste the WordPress loop into your web page? That might be some of the problem right there. There are a bunch of things going on, just clean them up one by one.

Start with cleaning up the code on the first page and then see what changes or improves.

thanks for all of ur help!
but i'm still stuck! lol i re-downloaded wp from the site and uploaded the original templates again. doing that, without even touching a bit of it, i checked it out again, and the problem is still there.

is it absolutely necessary that the sidebar be included? i don't like it! lol
thanks again for all of your help, if you have any more ideas as to why this is happening, PLEASE let me know! until then, i'm going to keep workin on it and hoping that i'll click some magic button or something!

One of the problems that you "included" the whole index.php file of the WP blog in the middle of your main index.php - so you have two head sections and so on...

Search here and find the ways how to include what you want into your main index.

It looks like it is something in all the additions you have made - good luck finding the culprit.

i don't think so though... because when i tried to install b2 when this wasn't working, i had the same effect: only 1 letter of the blog showed up.
could it be something on my server maybe?

    I don't think it's server related.

The code needs a proper cleanup:
    - as noted above, you have two <head> areas
    - you are calling css which is not needed

You need to use The Loop and only The Loop, and for that you need to create a file that uses just that code.

Right now it's a mess to be honest, so I can't point the finger at the server.

Right it is not server related. The link I posted above shows that. The problem is in your coding somewhere.
