 * I just moved our WP blog (2.9.2) to a new server, copied files databases and
   everything displays fine but after logging into admin and creating a draft post,
   the content, tags, and categories of the post were not saved. I check the wp_posts
   table in MySQL and the post title, author, date and more were saved.
 * Any ideas?
 * Thanks!

 * I followed these instructions and, for the most part, everything works. I just
   don’t understand how some of the post will get written to the database (title,
   author, posted date) and other parts not (post body, tags, etc.).

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.

 * esmi,
 * Thanks much for your help.
 * I deactivated all plugins and switched to the WordPress Default theme. Still,
   the post body is not saving.
 * Your suggestion to disable the plugins made me think that maybe the W3 Total
   Cache installation could be causing the problem. I followed [W3 Total Cache Uninstall suggestions](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/360682?replies=2);
   still no luck.

 * Using the QuickPress form in the admin landing page I was able to save a draft
   WITH content. Checked the database and sure enough it was there. I went to edit
   the post, added more text to the content, saved…no change.
 * So there’s something about the create/edit post form that isn’t working.

 * Or your database needs repairing?
