    Hi there,

I have some India-based users using a UK-hosted site and they reported today that it was very slow loading the WordPress edit screen.

I looked into it and realised that Yoast is loading nearly 5MB of JavaScript in files called things like wp-seo-analysis-worker-910.min.js and analysis-910.min.js, each of which are more than 2MB in size MINIFIED!!!

I went to my Yoast settings and turned off SEO Analysis and Readability analysis, but these huge JS files still load.

Is this right? Are these files still needed even when SEO analysis is turned off?

How long have these files been slowing down my experience? Are they really necessary?

    Thanks

We apologize for any inconvenience. Can you please confirm whether you’re running the latest version of Yoast SEO v9.2.1? If yes, if you disable the Yoast SEO meta box for a certain post type, does this still load that analysis worker javascript file?

    Hi there,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I’m running the latest version.

I don’t want to turn off the whole meta box. I just want to turn off readability analysis and SEO analysis. It seems to me that if I do this I shouldn’t need to load the analysis JavaScript code.

    Thanks

    Ross

If you’d like to turn off the SEO and Readability analysis, you can do so by accessing the SEO (sidebar) menu > General > Features Tab, and then turning those features off.

I’m having the same problem. Turning off all these: SEO analysis, Readability analysis, Cornerstone content and Text link does not help the page load speed. wp-seo-analysis-worker-940.min.js is taking 46 seconds to load in the WP editor. How can we/you fix this?
We are running the latest version of Yoast.
