Contact forms Plugin compatible in WP 2.1?

    Hi all WP people, I have been trying to install a contact form option to my WordPress blog v2.1 and the wp-contactform-akismet plugin seems like the best option with its built-in spam protection. I have downloaded it from bloggingexpertise.com and uploaded it to my “wp-content/plugins/” folder and activated it. But when I try to configure it at “Options >> Contact form” I get the following error message:

    “Not Found
    The requested URL /blog/wp-admin/wp-contact-form/options-contactform.php was not found on this server.
    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

    Any clues of what might be wrong? This plugin is on the 2.1 compatibility list but is seems like there is something wrong – why would it look for the plugin in the “wp-admin” dir? Thanks in advance =)

    Plugin just plain doesnt work with WP 2.1 in its current form.

    I’ve modified the plugin myself so that it should work under WordPress 2.1 & 2.2(Which i run), So its untested for 2.1, but i assume it works as 2.2 is so early in its dev. cycle.

    Many many thanks for the hacked wp-contactform-akismet plugin – I have installed and tested it and it is working great so far with my 2.1 WordPress blog.

    “This isnt a release from the author, infact, i dont even know if i’m allowewd to modify it :)” – since this plugin is already a recoding of Ryan Duff’s Contact Form plugin (who’s site is offline) and its forum is already offline as well I guess you’ve made a valuable contribution to other WordPress users suffering with the v2.1 upgrade blues 😉

    I’ve incorporated dd32’s changes into the official plugin, and it now works properly.
