What do you mean by “stopped working”? Do you see any error?

Same issue for me. The error msg I get is: “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.

I’ve emailed my web host asking is if the PHP mail() function has been disabled. A few weeks back (I’m on shared hosting) I had another site (not mine) sending out spam. Therefore my emails on my domain were getting bounced back saying I was on the CBL list. My host eventually resolved this but I do wonder if they disabled the PHP mail() function. Only thing I can think of.

My contact form, which has stopped working without any changes (maybe there was a recent plugin update?) is here:

Just following up from my message 2 days ago.

When nothing had changed in my code or updates, it was likely therefore true that something had changes on the server. My ISP (Wirenine) actually disabled the PHP mail() function without notifying me. They do this to find/stop spammers on a shared hosting situation. With a support ticket in they fixed the issue and at the same time recommended I use SMTP authentication when sending form mail.

I just had to install a WP plugin (I used Postman SMPT Mailer) which overrides the standard PHP mail() function and uses your SMTP service instead. This Postman SMTP Mailer plugin has a wizard to setup and looks really good.

Bottom line, Contact Form 7 working fine now.

Thank you very much specialk45 it worked great…

And since Postman SMTP does not use the PHP mail() function, you will be immune to these changes by your host in the future.

    Cheers!

Glad it helped Ada. And Postman SMTP thanks for the great plugin. Very pleased and impressed. I do web work fairly regularly and did not know about websites being able to send SMTP mail.

The only thing this won’t help with is the other people and their accounts on my shared web hosting situation that don’t use SMTP mail will still have MY email address ending up on a CBL blacklist for poor reputation.

Thanks again Postman SMTP, went and rated your plugin 5/5.

The only thing this won’t help with is the other people and their accounts on my shared web hosting situation that don’t use SMTP mail will still have MY email address ending up on a CBL blacklist for poor reputation.

This may be true for the IP address, but not your email address. Assuming you don’t share your site’s domain name with the other people.
