Since upgrading to 5.0.3 today this form has stopped working and I cannot even re-create it using the block or classic builder – the shortcode is simply not being recognised even though it is meant to be a built-in WordPress shortcode.

In case you can’t see the page (I am about to install a contact form plugin and set up an alternative version of the page) here is what customers are seeing on the actual page itself – I have replaced the email addresses just here, but on the actual site they are in plain view!:

    [contact-form to='xxxx,yyyy,zzzz' subject='Book a Web Demo or Free Trial'][contact-field label='I would like to arrange a' type='radio' options='Free Personal Web Demonstration,Free Trial of Healthy Practice'/][contact-field label='Name' type='name' required='1'/][contact-field label='Clinic Name' type='text'/][contact-field label='Message' type='textarea'/][contact-field label='Contact Telephone Number' type='text' required='1'/][contact-field type='radio' required='1' options='Audiology,Chiropractic,Osteopathy,Physiotherapy,Other'/][contact-field label='Email Address' type='email' required='1'/][contact-field label='Preferred Contact Day' type='checkbox-multiple' options='Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday'/][contact-field label='Preferred Time' type='checkbox-multiple' options='Morning,Lunch time,Afternoon'/][/contact-form]

I have tried a re-install through dashboard and have downloaded the healthcheck plugin, but as it gives a really scary warning about taking backups etc I need to get this fixed fast (so will post a link to a “hidden” page demonstrating the problem if I can get a plugin to work instead).

When using the new block page editor there is no block found if I type “contact” in the search box and in the classic editor there is no “@contact form” in the drop down list under the “+” button.

Are you using a plugin for this contact form? If so, which plugin? Downloaded from?

Hi, sorry for the delay in answering: nope, this is the “built in” contact form, (hence the “[contact-form]” short code I guess) – I have had to download a plugin and use that in the mean time but the “bad login form” still has the original shortcode which is appearing on the page – do you need me to post any screen shots of the editor etc? It just feels like support for the built in contact form has been removed completely in this version as I could not find it anywhere in the editor either (blocks or classic).

this is the “built in” contact form

I recommend asking at https://wordpress.org/support/theme/tiny-framework so the theme’s developers and support community can help you with this.

FYI This theme was last updated: July 2, 2017!! Likely it’s not being maintainted by the theme’s auhtor.

Crikey this time difference make this hard work doesn’t it 🙂 Sorry again for the long delay in responding.

So I am not sure why you think a Theme would impact the built-in short codes of WordPress but as switching themes has such a minimal impact (esp if done when the site is least likely to have any visitors) I switched to “Twenty Nineteen” and it made no difference what so ever to this issue, sorry.

As no one else is shouting about this then it must either be something specific to my site or to one of the plugins (as I know plugins can impact the functionality of WordPress by hooking in and over-riding functions) so I guess I just have to work my way through them one at a time to find out which one is causing the issue. Thanks for your attention and I will back away bowing, acknowledging that the problem is mine to solve.

Sorry – forgot to mark this as “resolved” – I suspect I may not find the cause but the solution was to find a plugin providing contact forms and use that.
