Contact Form Plugin Question (6 posts)

Hi. I've installed Ryan's contact form plugin and have it set up to work in the sidebar. It works great with the exception that it sends the form twice. I've looked at the code but I can't figure out what I need to do to get it to only send the form once. It also displays the success message after the form is submitted in both the sidebar and the main content area of the page. You can see it at http://www.emeryhomeinspection.com. Any ideas about how to fix this? Thanks.

My version of WP-ContactForm doesn't ask for address info (like City, State). Have you changed the code?

Also, isn't the text <!--contact form--> intended to be assigned in the Content of a Page (or post)?

At first I though, it's not so bad to get the message twice, and as a user, i don't think i'd notice it.

But maybe you don't want to redirect to that page, you want to redirect to the page from which they came?

    Is that what you want?

Or do you want it only to appear in sidebar, not in full page?

i came across another plugin, built off the original contact form, this one has an "optional redirect" which you might find helpful:

if it works, please come back and tell us.

Hi. Thanks for your replies. Yes, I have modified the code. I've added fields for Address, City, State, etc. To get it to work in the sidebar, I used <?php echo wpcf_callback('<!--contact form-->'); ?>. But for some reason, when the form gets sent, it shows the success message in both the sidebar (where I want it) and in the main body of the page (where I don't want it). I have looked at the PXS mail form in the past, but I didn't want to use it if I didn't have to because I've modified the contact form plugin so much already. I wouldn't mind getting the duplicate emails, but the person I am doing the site for might. Thanks for you help.

Well you probably don't want to look at this based on the work you've already done but I'll throw it your way:
