I’m a novice, but with a clue (now).

I built my WordPress site on my temporary URL, and then when it was finished, I transferred my domain name from a different provider.

I figured out how to adjust the URLs from the temporary to the permanent, but not before using the Blue Velvet plugin to change my old URL to my new. Doing that broke some images, so I went back and fixed the paths one by one in WordPress.

I run a shop and one of my custom item banners “SOLD!” was broken because the new URL didn’t have a forward slash after the domain name. I went in manually and fixed that for the few affected products.

HOWEVER… my contact form icons are now placeholder boxes. I suspect that my tangle with Velvet Blue has pulled out a forward slash somewhere deep in some code, thereby breaking those images also. I can’t adjust the icons from the Contact Form thingy with WordPress.

Can anyone direct me to the likely file where I could edit the code and correct the paths for these images? I suppose I could try running Velvet Blue again, changing from a URL-with-no-slash to a URL-with-a-slash, but I’m worried that the fixes I’ve already done will wind up misspelled with two slashes. I’ve never used Velvet Blue before today and would prefer to minimize my screwups today. Any help? Thanks.

Similarly, I have just noticed that the little chevron icons that pop up on either side of my sliders (no matter the style of chevron or the type of slider) are gone, too.

Could be a missing slash. But plugins sometimes will set a absolute server URL in the database, i.e. home/account/www/servernumber/public_html/wp-content/plugins/… that needs to be changed in the database via searching with phpmyadmin or Adminer « WordPress Plugins. But sometimes the URL is serialized, and changing will break the setting. So you may need to deactivate/reactivate the plugin to force it to see the new absolute path.

Didn’t work. I’ll have to talk to my theme provider– I bet something has been that changed that identifies the location of the icons. Thanks anyway.
