Contact Form 7, no recaptcha integration

    Hello,

    I’ve read many articles about Compliance and Contact Form 7 and now I’m confused … does the following constellation work?

    Compliance – 5.2.6 > integration cf7 is disabled
    Contact Form 7 – 5.4.2 > no google recaptcha integrated
    Contact Form 7 Image Captcha 3.2.3

    Do I need WP Consent API?

    Sometimes submit forms works, sometimes it doesn’t …

    Console displays the error:
    Object {code: “invalid_json”, message: “The response is not a valid JSON response.” }
    Code: “invalid_json”
    Message: “The response is not a valid JSON response.”

    I have several websites with this constellation …

    Hi @cc-mail,

    I don’t recognize the error as being related to CF7 & reCaptcha.

    We support Contact Form 7 – < 5.3 with native reCaptcha V3 Integration.

    After we recommend either the WP Consent API with a CF7 5.4 specific integration, or for example Friendly Captcha, a GDPR-friendly alternative.

    Let me know which one your prefer, I can show you how to implement.

    If i use Contact form 7 without recaptcha, would this be ok? (not thinking of using recaptcha at the moment.

    As i am only going to have a contact form, I’m happy to change to whatever one works best with you 🙂

    Hi @horsetags,

    You could use Contact Form 7 without their ReCaptcha integration, but this might result in spam being sent with the form. I would recommend using an alternative plugin for spam protection: such as Akismet, Friendly Captcha or hCaptcha.
