Contact Form 7 (Mobile not sending)

Hello,

When I send a form submission through a desktop or iPad it works flawlessly and I receive the email. But when I send the form through mobile (specifically iPhone Safari) I Immediately recieve an error stating how it failed to send the message and I of corse do not receive the email either.

I have the latest version of Contact Form 7 and WordPress installed.

I have deactivated all plugins and theme with no avail.

I have switched to the basic Oshin theme contact form and that did actually work well but is too basic. I would really would like to use the more comprehensive Contact Form 7.

I’ve installed Contact Form 7 on another domain with all the same exact form fields and variables. It’s on the same host w the same server settings, etc. It has the plain Twenty Sixteen generic WordPress Theme. And that works fine with the iPhone and all others.

Try switching temporarily on the newly created site to the theme you are using where you are getting the problems and see if the problem reappears.

Ok, I have activated the the oshin theme and the problem does not reappear – the form submission through iPhone still works. Please see here:

@mmfotos – that’s very good news – problems with themes are often very hard to solve.

If you don’t have all the same plugins installed on the new site you should add them back 1 by 1 and see if the problem reappears.

I know this is cumbersome but you’ve got a really tricky problem.

That’s ok, I’m not afraid of a little work 😉 I will go through the plug ins one by one.

FYI, I have not uploaded the data base to the other domain though, just the theme.

@mmfotos – it’s best not to upload the database from the other site. It could contain the problem.

I’ve uploaded and systematically activated an check the form for each plug in and the problem does not reappear. All plug ins are currently on.

I think you’ve got a problem with the other WordPress install and it could be really hard to find what it is. You’ve eliminated all other possible causes that I can think of.

The only clue I can see to what this might be is:

Plus I noticed after submitting on my iPhone that extension on the end of my URL appears as well: http://www.mmarchitecturalphotography.com/contact/#wpcf7-f3515-p3347-o3

I don’t see that when I submit a form. I assume you are not seeing it on your new site or when you submit from your desktop on the problem site. It’s adding the CF7 form’s ID to the pages URL.

It might be something caused be your servers setup & configuration or even your .htaccess file.

No – on fresh WP install on the same server, on the same domain with the same theme and the same set of plugins the email sends without problems from iPhone.

On the other WP install with same theme & range of plugins it doesn’t. This indicates there is something on that install that is causing the problem.
