  • make sure you have the correct value in your email-download shortcode for the contact_form_id — it needs to match the CF7 form. see https://wordpress.org/plugins/email-before-download/screenshots/

if that’s not it, then make sure your CF7 form is using field names like “your-name”, not “name”. WordPress has problems when you use fields with reserved words like “name” (or, at least it used to).

If neither works, uninstall everything, reinstall CF7 and get it working first from a test page that you make. THEN, once you get it working, follow the EBD instructions like you did before.

Also, it’s worth pointing out that another person recently reported the same problem on this support forum. It could be that the latest versions of everything don’t work & cause the issue you’re seeing. You could try to step back a little bit on one or more of the plugins & see if that fixes it.

i have the same problem i use this

    [email-download download_id=”10497″ contact_form_id=”7754″]

my shotcode in CF 7 is

    [contact-form-7 id=”7754″ title=”Descarga de Documentos”]

    my Id download is 10497

    what is wrong plese help

    i use WP 4.2.2

I don’t know … from what you’re saying, it should work. I suggest you make a new public test page so that we can see it & try it.

Also, I wonder if the fact that you are using a non-English language is causing a problem. You might try uploading a new file — something simple like a filename of “abc.jpg” and give it a title of “myabcfile”. Do not use any characters with accents or anything like that. Make a new contact form & don’t use any non-english characters in it. Make a new page in wordpress — don’t use any non-english characters on the page — put the email-download shortcode in there (make sure the contact_form_id references the new contact form you just made, same for the download_id referencing the new file you just uploaded). Try that .. if it doesn’t work, make it public so we can try.

there was a problem whit a other plugin

    wp-filebase

    and accents

    thanks a lot

I have same problem with this issue. I’ve controlled all things, deactived plugins but it is giving same error. What sould I do?

Also mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/email-before-download/checkcurl.php does not work, it is giving 404 error too. Is this related with my problem?
